It’s time to recognize the colleagues who make a difference every day.

Nominations are now open for the WashU Medicine Orthopedics Staff Awards. Any staff member, resident, fellow or faculty member may nominate a staff colleague for recognition.

Award recipients will be announced at the WashU Medicine Orthopedics Celebration at Energizer Park in August.

We encourage everyone to submit nominations and help recognize the individuals who contribute to our culture, patient experience and success.

Nomination deadline: June 30, 2026

Teamwork Award: This award is for an employee who consistently demonstrates a friendly and positive attitude toward others. They anticipate needs and assist others often without being asked. They work closely with peers and supervisors to get things done. 

Excellence in Leadership Award: This award is for an employee who is an excellent role model, who inspires others to work collaboratively and creatively and who demonstrates initiative. They promote a work environment that is respectful, collegial and supportive, foster pride in their team, and lead their team to achieve results. They are actively involved in the support, mentorship and development of others. 

Exceptional Customer Service Award: This award is for an employee who demonstrates an extraordinary level of courtesy, care and concern for others. They are empathetic and go out of their way to serve patients, families, visitors, or fellow employees. They are professional, kind and inclusive. 

Outstanding Job Performance Award: This award is for an employee who goes above and beyond. They demonstrate a high degree of skill and proficiency in carrying out duties and they are extremely effective and efficient. This employee accepts responsibility willingly, and is flexible, innovative and productive. 

Good Vibes: This award is for an employee who exudes positive energy and a positive attitude in the workplace. This ray of sunshine sets the tone for the workday with a pep in their step and makes the day a little easier and better for all around them.
